Fundraiser Updates
Thanks to all those who supported our spring break fundraisers. We were extremely pleased with the results as we raised about $1600. This will help cover costs of year end activities such as field trips, swimming and picnic day!
The Parent Advisory Council will be selling Coop Vouchers this month to help raise money for several items, including some school playground upgrades. The Coop vouchers feature “dollar for dollar purchasing power”. Vouchers will be available for sale May 9th to 23rd.
Volunteer Award
Grace Penner will be receiving an award on May 3rd from the Manitoba Association of Parent Councils for her service as a volunteer in our school. She has served the school well on the PCSAC, dedicating blocks of time to organizing and supporting our activities. Thank you, Grace.
No CAT Tests this year:
Some changes in assessment and reporting have us trying a few new ideas. As a result, the division has not scheduled CAT testing this year. Did you notice?
Skipping Teams off to a Flying Leap!
Skipping teams have been organized for all grades and practices have begun over the lunch hours on Monday, Wednesday and Friday. We were all inspired by the agility and creativity of the skipping team demo from Lowe Farm.
Drama Time!
Two exciting drama performances are on the near horizon for our school. On May 21 & 22, our Grade 3 & 4 classes will be showcasing the musical, “Malice in the Palace”—a creative dramatization of the story of Queen Esther. On June 4 & 5, the Grade 8 students will perform “Nerdman”, a comical spin on the Superman hero. A small admission will be charged at both presentations to help cover the costs of the presentations. |
