DEVELOPMENT CORPORATION ANNUAL MEETING

The 3rd Thursday in April at the Prairie View Elevator at 7.30pm.  Join the community to review the previous years activities of the organizations and preview the goals for the year ahead.  The Citizen of the Year and the Community Builder Awards are also presented.

The 2nd Saturday in June, hardball and fastball teams from all around Southern Manitoba gather in Centennial Park to battle against the local Plum Coulee teams of all ages.  Always present is the dunk tank, for your chance to dunk your favourite local resident, brought to you by the local fire department. 

PLUM FEST

Plum Coulee residents of present and past, wait all year for this annual event held on the 3rd weekend in August.  Well planned water games, stage entertainment, dog show, with something for all ages.  You will never go hungry, with the selection of food vendors available.  The event is capped off on Sunday with a morning church service provided by one of the local churches, and a by-donation faspa consisting of barbequed hot dogs and homemade french fries.

PLUM CRAZY DUCK RACE

At 11.00 am, on the last Saturday of September, hundreds of little numbered ducks are released to race to shore, for its ticket holders chance to win $300.  To participate and to purchase your duck race ticket, call the Town Office at 829-3419 or e-mail them at

Always the last Saturday in September, the annuual Fall Supper serves a tradtional Mennonite menu consisting of perogies, thick noodles, ham, farmer sausage, layered under plum sauce and cream gravy and topped off with a fresh locally made slice of pie.  It is first come first served in the Community Hall from 5.30 to 7.00 pm.  Contact Heather Unger at 325-3350 or Moira Porte at 829-3615 for details.

CHRISTMAS TREE LIGHTING

We gather as a community to carol and visit with hot chocolate in hand, around an open fire.  The community is lit with lights and Santa always stops by with candy.  

Join us at 6.30pm in November at Heritage Square.  Don't forget your Operation Christmas Child shoeboxes.  They are always picked up at this annual event.
